| Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers and ranked by U.S. News & World Report, announces a search for the Chair of Pediatric Critical Care. The Chair would oversee all activities related to the pediatric intensive care, including care of complex general and subspecialty medical and surgical patients, a growing pediatric cardiac surgical program, and a fellowship. This position will administratively report to the Chair of the Pediatric Institute. |
Our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), staffed 24/7 by a team of highly skilled pediatric intensivists, ensures safe transition from the emergency department or operating room to recovery. We typically treat and care for over 1,000 pediatric patients a year from Ohio, as well as children from other states and foreign countries.
Primary responsibility in the role will be to meet the tripartite institutional goals of superb clinical care (“better care of the sick”), research (“investigation of their problems”), and “educating those who serve.” The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership capabilities, with a focus on institutional priorities regarding quality, patient safety, teamwork, and patient and caregiver experience. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
Applicants should have an excellent record of clinical service, teaching and scholarship with experience in leadership, administrative skills, mentoring of faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, and program development. The successful candidate will have experience in management of children after heart surgery and catheter interventions as well as experience working within a clinically integrated network and a demonstrated ability to engage multidisciplinary teams. Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatric Critical Care or its equivalent and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio is required.
