Responsible for providing assistance, coaching and training tostaff members, including new hires. Theysupport and assist the Team, the Supervisor and Management with complexinventory and issue resolution. Responsible for all aspects of the billing, follow up and collectionactivity for payers that are Supplemental to Medicare. May maintain a large dollar inventory desk orcomplex accounts as well as serve as just-in-time staffing, working inventoryfor team members that may be absent or backlogged. May assist in special projects as assigned mymanagement, including acting as a point of contact for internal operationalquestions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includethe following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for allaspects of insurance follow up and collections, including making telephonecalls, accessing payer websites. Maymaintain a large dollar inventory desk as well as serve as just-in-timestaffing, working inventory for team members that may be absent orbacklogged. Effectively resolve complexor aged inventory, including payment research, payment recoups with minimal orno assistance necessary. Accurately andthoroughly document the pertinent collection activity performed. Review the accountinformation and necessary system applications to determine the next appropriatework activity. Verify claimsadjudication utilizing appropriate resources and applications. Initiatetelephone or letter contact to patients to obtain additional information asneeded. Perform appropriate billingfunctions, including manual re-bills as well as electronic submission topayers. Edit claims to meet and satisfybilling compliance guidelines for electronic submission. Manage and maintain desk inventory, completereports, and resolve high priority and aged inventory. Proactively identify issues or trending andprovide suggestions for resolution.
Provide assistance,coaching and training to staff members, including new hires. Provide enhanced training and assist staffwith techniques to increase production, quality and collections. Participate in the new hire peer interviewingprocess. Assist in special projectsassigned by management.
Participate and attendmeetings, training seminars and in-services to develop job knowledge. Attend various conference calls, webinars oradvanced training to provide assistance to the team members. Respond timely to emails and telephonemessages from the staff, management and the client. Effectively communicate issues to management,including payer, system or escalated account issues as well as developsolutions.

Advancedtechnical skills including PC and MS Outlook
Advancedknowledge of UB-04 and Explanation of Benefits (EOB) interpretation
Advancedknowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes
Advancedknowledge of insurance billing, collections and insurance terminology
Include minimum education, technical training, and/orexperience preferred to perform the job.
Highschool diploma or equivalent education
3-6years of experience in Medical/Hospital Insurance related collections
