This position exists to ensure the coordinated delivery of safe, efficient, effective and timely pharmaceutical care to patients being served at Gillette. Directs development of department workflow policies and procedures to meet all federal and state regulatory requirements. Advances performance through the development and analysis of core quality and safety metrics
Specific duties are determined by the work setting or patient population served; however, in all positions, serving patients with challenging and complex conditions requires a concentration of specialized staff able to work in highly coordinated teams. We organize care around each patient’s condition which requires staff at multiple levels and across many departments to exhibit exceptional teamwork qualities including communicating efficiently and effectively and adopting the behaviors required for high functioning integrated teams, consistent with our Gillette CARES expectations.
Coordinating the 24-hour/7 day per week delivery of pharmacy services to meet safety, timeliness, effectiveness and patient/family focused care expectations.
Ensuring that adequately trained pharmacy staff is available and properly assigned to support the services and achieve the desired outcomes.
Assure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation requirements, contract agreements, and performance guarantees and participates and/or leads meetings.
Coordinating and/or negotiating patient goals and service provision with the referring provider and multi-disciplinary and multi-facility team members.
Managing the competing needs of program development, growth and financial goals.
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships and communication to advance the care, services and goals.
Engagement of providers in developing and implementing operational improvements and workflow efficiencies.
Licensure or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in Minnesota
Minimum of five years of health-system pharmacy experience with 3 years in a supervisory or leadership pharmacist role within a hospital, surgical or medical clinic setting.
Demonstrated ability to initiate significant and complex process improvement initiatives that involve a number of stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work closely with physicians and clinical providers.
Demonstrated interpersonal & communication skills as related to patients, families, co-workers, nurses, physicians, and with strong customer service skills
Strong knowledge, skills, and experience in communicating with diverse groups, negotiating complex issues and in maintaining professional relationships
Financial and budget management experience; ability to analyze trends and changes in healthcare environment
Management of human resources experience, including recruiting and retention, staffing and performance management
Time management, problem solving, protocol, policy and procedure development, finance and budget management, program analysis and development experience necessary
Demonstrated managerial leadership including:
Ability to design and execute new and significantly revised work flows and processes on time and within budget
Ability to manage across function and service types with excellence in staff engagement, customer experience, and operational efficiency
Ability to define, analyze and interpret business information needs to promote and sustain successful operations from customer experience, revenue cycle, and operational efficiency perspectives.
Must be interested in working with people with disabilities, primarily children & adolescents and their families
