Summary
Delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to adult and geriatric surgical patients during perioperative period. Nursing care complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital and care is performed in accordance with the standards and practices of the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). Nursing care utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates with medical staff and ancillary personnel when delivering age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with unit standards. Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well being of the patient. Prepares equipment and assists physicians during treatments and examinations of patients. Critical thinking skills and ability to work in a stressful fast paced environment is essential. Acts as a resource person to meet department needs including functioning as a preceptor to new employees, charge nurse when assigned, etc. Required to work flexible hours and be on call nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring of, and compliance of all regulatory and licensing agencies including but not limited to TJC, OSHA, ACHA, CMS, etc.

Qualifications
Current Florida RN License
Current BLS Certification
Current ACLS Certification
CNOR preferred
One year peri-operative experience preferred
Computer Skills
Effective oral communication skills in the English language
