JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Software Development will ensure Conifer Value-Based Care�s software and data infrastructure meets the evolving needs of Conifer�s clients. This role�s primary responsibilities are to oversee multiple development teams, own the technical direction of the product suite, manage the entire SDLC, ensure the successful delivery of product releases, and manage data management through intake and export of data. The individual will also serve as an expert in sales proposals and presentations, serve as a liaison with Conifer Information Services department to ensure infrastructure meets the needs of the business unit software requirements, and provide input into VBC�s strategy to keep ahead of evolving market needs. Elements for success include a strong background in mentoring and providing leadership to development staff, providing strong project management skills that result in meeting or beating timelines, meeting or exceeding standards of quality, and executive presence to present technical solutions to internal executives and prospects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive software development through full product lifecycle (vision, definition, planning, execution and successful release/deployment).
- Manage software development and data management teams daily operations, including mentoring developers.
- Evaluate new technologies, advise or lead new technology implementation to ensure they are successful in Conifer�s environments.
- Develop and manage software development capital budget including business case development and tracking of results realized in collaboration with product management, finance and business subject matter experts.
- Represent VBC technical solution and requirements to executive stakeholders, clients, and prospects
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct Reports (titles): Director App Development, Manager App Development, Manager App Design, Manager Application Support
Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Experience leading healthcare software development, data architecture, and data management with proven track record of managing timelines, release process, and operations.
- Ability to successfully oversee numerous projects and applications simultaneously with little oversight or direction.
- Must possess experience with vendor management, budget management, team building and leadership, application support, project/program management and knowledge of healthcare technologies.
- Experience with .Net, Microsoft SQL Server, Azure cloud environment, Azure Synapse, enterprise data warehouse models and concepts such as data reporting and ETL.
- Experience with managing distributed team (onsite, remote) and working with business leaders from distributed locations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required in addition to the ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations to leadership.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor�s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or equivalent is also required.
- Minimum of 8 years� experience in software development, preferably in healthcare
- Minimum 3 years leading a team
